Soil Mechanics

Principles and practice, third edition

by Graham Barnes

Understanding soil mechanics

Soil Mechanics provides civil engineering students with a clear understanding of the nature of soil and its behaviour, offering an insight into the application of principles to engineering solutions. In keeping with industry changes, this updated 3rd edition now incorporates Eurocodes with worked examples to demonstrate the theory in use.

This is an excellent textbook. One of the best textbooks on Soil Mechanics. Clear and concise explanations of theory. Good drawings and diagrams to illustrate theory. Excellent worked examples and exercises for the student to practise. -J.W. Glenn, Belfast Institute of Further and Higher Education, UK
