Work Psychology in Action

About the author

Anna Sutton is a Senior Lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University Business School, leading modules in Work Psychology for undergraduate and postgraduate students. Prior to this, she lectured at Leeds Metropolitan University on the BSc (Hons) Psychology programmes, with a specialism in occupational psychology and individual differences.

With experience working in Human Resources, Anna is also a Chartered Psychologist and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society. Her consultancy work involves using personality psychology to encourage individuals and teams to develop self-awareness, improve communication and encourage better team-working.

Anna’s research focuses on the role of personality at work and particularly how the development of self-awareness can impact on people’s work lives and well-being. In addition, Anna has engaged in research projects which explore teaching-related issues, such as students' understanding of plagiarism and the Research-Teaching link at universities, and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
