Macmillan celebrates 20 years of study skills publishing!

We're proud that over the last two decades, we've helped hundreds of thousands of students better navigate the demands of university life. Launched in 1999 with the first edition of The Study Skills Handbook by bestselling author Stella Cottrell, the Macmillan Study Skills series aspires to make the process of learning easier, faster and more enjoyable. Read more about the Study Skills story here!

Our diverse portfolio of resources, now published under the Red Globe Press imprint, allows students to learn in the way that works best for them. The Macmillan Study Skills series, which is now home to over 50 titles, is complemented by our distinctive short-format Pocket Study Skills series. Next month, we will publish the new 50 Ways series, by Stella Cottrell, which provides students with a fresh, alternative way to engage with core study, life and employability skills. We also offer interactive e-learning experiences for students in the form of Skills for Study and Cite them right online.

Over the past 20 years, social, cultural and technological changes have transformed the higher education landscape and we remain committed to commissioning products which reflect the reality of what it means to be a student in higher education today. Beyond core academic skills, an increasing proportion of our titles deal with topics such as employability and student wellbeing.

In the world of education, almost everything has changed except the need for good study skills. Twenty years on, we are so much more aware of the difference that effective strategies, habits and attitudes can make to student outcomes and well-being–for all students, at all levels." -Stella Cottrell
